PRE-REQUISITES: A dancer must meet all of the following requirements to be considered for NHSDA Membership

*What is an Unexcused Absence? An absence from any technique class that has not been reported is considered unexcused. An absence from any technique class that is not made up in a timely manner is considered unexcused. All absences due to off-island travel, illness, or injury do not need to be made up (although they must be reported to be considered excused). Any absence due to social events, homework, family time, etc. must be both reported and made up in order to be considered excused.

GPA: Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2/4.0

Be enrolled in the KDA Classical Ballet Program

Participate in the annual KDA Ballet Performance

Demonstrate commitment to community and academic excellence

Attendance: Dancers enrolled in Ballet III and IIIA may have no more than 10 unexcused absences* for the academic year. Dancers enrolled in Ballet IV and above may have no more than 15 unexcused absences* for the academic year.

Participation in Chapter Dance Program: Weekly Commitments

Weekly Technique Class: 3 points for Ballet III, 3.5 points for Ballet IIIA, 5 points for Ballet IV, 5.5 points for Ballet IVA+

Volunteer as a KDA Teaching Assistant: 1 class/week: 3 points; 2 classes/week: 4 points

Volunteer as a KDA Studio Helper: 1 day/week: 2 points; 2 days/week: 3 points
